Zac Efron - ‘Bet On It’ Music Video Review | Troy From ‘High School Musical 2′
Something a bit different here today on Killed By The Video Star, with Zac Efron, in his guise as Troy from High School Musical 2 singing Bet On It.
I’m not a fan of High School Musical, hell I haven’t even seen the films, mainly because I’m not a pre-pubescent schoolgirl with too much time on my hands.
So this is the first time I’ve seen a clip from the film, and it’s as cheesy and camp as I thought it would be. No, scrub that, it’s even more so.
The song reminds me of a cross between Ricky Martin and something from the late 1980s. I think they were going for Justin Timberlake, but they fell way short.
I can’t deny its catchiness though, with a chorus which is sure to stick in the mind of anyone under the age of 12 for more than a few hours.
The video clip of Zac has him running around in all his fake tan goodness, doing what can only be described as the gayest dance of all time. Maybe the Bet On It from the title is alluding to Efron’s sexuality?
Song: 5/10
Video: 3.10
Campness: 10/10
