When I say “Boston,” what do you think of? Baked beans? The Red Sox? Racism? How about beaches? Can you name a famous beach in Boston? Southie? No, close. That’s by the water, but it’s not really a “beach” in the traditional sense of the term.
My point, as you may have guessed if you watched the video before you started reading (which is the way this blog works best, you should try it), is…well, isn’t it obvious? If one’s song is named after a particular East Coast city, and is about MOVING to said city, the video probably shouldn’t take place exclusively on a beach in CALIFORNIA!
Unless, of course, the band responsible for the video thinks that the East Coast looks exactly like the West Coast, except that our beaches grow pianos. Quick, Augustana! Move to Boston, start a new life! Just do it in time for the piano harvest!
