The Shake Flail Around Like Maniacs, AKA The “Manic Boogie” Music Video
The Shake
“Manic Boogie”
Album: Kick It
Simple concept + stellar execution = viral video primed to explode. So maybe blue screen frames aren’t exactly the most original idea ever–who cares? Director Powell Weaver took a simple technology and ran with it, allowing the band to literally be everywhere at once. Does the band maybe take a cue or two too many from the Rock ‘n Roll Soldiers? Maybe. Would the concept have worn thin if the song were much longer than two and a half minutes? Probably. Will my hypothetical questions continue in the next paragraph?
Do I not care because the video and song are permanently affixed to my cerebral cortex as a spastic reminder for me to send the link to my friends? Definitely.
