The Futureheads - ‘Hounds Of Love’ Music Video Review | Better Than Kate Bush?
The Futureheads are an amazing British band who have taken a whole host of influences, as well as their own style, and fine tuned it in to a unique sound.
They’re just about to embark on a UK tour, and have a new single out, but I thought we should go old school, and revisit what has been their biggest hit to date.
This song, Hounds Of Love, is a cover version of a Kate Bush classic, although by the time the Sunderland band have put their take on it, there’s not much recognisable from the original.
This song is perfect for The Futureheads style of harmonies, and the background “woah oohs” and “uh oh ohs” (say what you hear!) are a joy to behold.
The song is brilliantly catchy, staying in your head long after it’s finished, and you’re playing something else. The blend of guitars, drums, and harmonies make it a perfect pop song.
The video hasn’t had much spent on it, but it doesn’t matter, it’s still brilliant. The band are basically running through a dark forest before performing with a bunch of dogs.
If you’re not in to The Futureheads, this is the perfect song to get you in to them, and if like me you are already a fan, you’ll know all of the words off by heart.
Song: 10/10
Video: 8/10
