The Feeling - ‘I Thought It Was Over’ Music Video Review | They’re Better Live, Honest!
The Feeling are one of those British bands which could make it big in the US if only hip hop and R’n'B didn’t dominate the American charts so totally.
They have a very universal sound, which should appeal to everyone who likes a good pop song, as well as those of us who are in to Indie or guitar music too.
I recently went to see them live, and you can read the full report on the Manchester gig over on Brit Music Scene.
This song, I Thought It was Over, is the first from second album Join With Us, and gives a good indication of what you should expect from the group.
The band are actually a bunch of posh kids, but don’t hold that against them, as they make brilliant pop songs, with heartfelt lyrics which I guarantee you’ll be humming for days to come.
I Thought It Was Over is a love song based around the time of the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the end of communism in East Europe.
The video isn’t the best they’ve done, and is actually quite uninspiring. It compliments the song without leading it though, which is good.
The only complaint I have really is that the lead singer, Dan Gillespie Sells, looks like Adolf Hitler’s brother. Maybe given the subject matter, that was intentional?
Song: 9/10
Video: 6/10
Hitler’s Moustache: 0/10
