The Day Rock Died
Drowning Pool
“Bodies”
Album: Sinner
To be fair, the first five seconds of this video gave me hope for the video. For just a moment I thought, “Wow, maybe I was totally wrong. Maybe they had enough money to hire Mark Romanek or Tarsem and I’m about to bear witness to an envelope pushing music video that questions the place of violence in society.
Nope. Instead, the band yells at an old man for three minutes.
Y’know, it used to be that the elderly feared the terrible gyrating hips of Elvis. Now this is what the elderly fear most about rock and roll. That it will literally kidnap them and strap them down and yell at them.
Most upsetting though? Not a single body hits any kind of surface in this video. I was kind of hoping they were gonna push the old man off a building and on to some helicopter blades or something at the end there, but, no. That, apparently, was too much to ask. More bodies hit the floor (and fist!) in the new Arctic Monkeys video.
In conclusion, this video overtook the pilots and crashed Buddy Holly’s plane. That’s a true fact you can look up.
