Rihanna - ‘Don’t Stop The Music’ Music Video | What Has She Sampled This Time?
There I was, all ready and prepared to hate this song, because up to now I haven’t exactly been a fan of Rihanna’s music. But actually, I kind of like it. This woman must have some special powers of seduction.
I liked Umbrella as a song, at least for the first 50 times I heard it, but after it got on my nerves more than all the failed Pop Idol winners who release crap ever have.
By the end of it’s long run at the top of the British music charts, I wanted to cut my ears every time it came on the radio, and bitch slap Rihanna in to the bargain for good measure.
This song is quite fantastic though, even though I have an aversion to the artist, and the genre of music it inhabits too, so something must be going on somewhere.
It’s got a pumping dance floor beat, which keeps the whole thing going, and of course Rihanna’s delectable voice wailing all over the top. It certainly makes for a heady and quite addictive mixture.
The video isn’t all that, just showing Rihanna arriving at a club and doing her thing, but it passes the time for your eyes while the song plays out.
Song: 8/10
Video: 4/10
