Paramore - ‘Misery Business’ Video Review | I Thought It Was Avril Lavigne!
Oops, I’ve heard this song on the radio many times over the past few weeks, and every time been convinced it’s Avril Lavigne. Now I learn that it’s by a band called Paramore. Wow.
The song has actually already been released here in the UK, where it failed miserably, so like all good record companies that are convinced the public know nothing, they’ve released it again.
The thing is, on this occasion they could be right. I really like this song, from lead singer Hayley William’s voice, to the arrangement. It’s just that it does sound an awful lot like Avril Lavigne. I’m sorry, but it does.
The song follows that pattern of quiet verse followed by loud and rocking chorus. It may be done to death, but it works almost every time, so why not.
The video is a combination of the band performing, and a bit of a storyline revolving around girls bitching at school. That sounds good to me, the only problem being it makes me feel old.
