Panic At The Disco - ‘Nine In The Afternoon’ Music Video Review | Please Review Me!
This song has been hanging around the charts all over the world for a few months now, and also being played to death on all of the Internet radio stations I spend my day listening to while blogging.
I’ve resisted reviewing it here on Killed By The Video Star over that long period but just couldn’t resist any more. Basically, the song itself has been poking me constantly for review, and I’ve finally capitulated.

The reason I resisted for so long was not because it’s a bad song or anything, but because it is one of them damn catchy but annoying records that once heard never actually leaves your ear canal alone. And that annoys me in my curmudgeonly old age.
I actually really like the song if I sit down and listen to it, but I hate getting badgered and provoked in to liking something, and that is what Panic At The Disco (they’ve sensibly dropped the ! before anyone makes a dumbass comment) have done here.
The video is like some kind of technicolour dream sequence from hell, and I needed to blink away a few times during it to maintain my sanity. It also reminds me of Shiny Happy People by R.E.M. which after their last release isn’t a bad thing.
Song: 8/10
Video: 8/10
