One Republic - ‘Stop and Stare’ Video Review | Another Timbaland Touched Success
How do you follow up a massive hit when this time you don’t have Timbaland’s seemingly magic hands at the mixing desk? Just put out more of the same… the work is already done.
That’s a bit unfair, but this song does feel a bit slow and plodding after One Republic’s hit Apologize. There’s just less life and energy in this one, and it shows.
That’s not to say it’s a bad song, as it isn’t. In fact, while lying in bed with my headphones on, this is perfect, although a whole album of the same kind of stuff would send me to sleep better than counting any number of sheep.
The video on the other hand, is brilliantly realised, playing more like a mini movie than a music promo. That’s not to say I understand it, but the imagery is great regardless.
Song: 7/10
Video: 8/10
