Muse - ‘New Born’ Video Review | The Most Rockingest Video Ever Made
Muse are getting bigger by the day. I mean, they’ve always been top notch, but each album gets bigger, more spectacular, and more epic in scale and ambition.
Their fanbase is also growing exponentially, with the band making inroads in to the Anerican charts, and Knights Of Cydonia appearing on Guitar Hero III surely gaining them some new converts.
This video is a classic, being the promo to New Born from the Origin of Symmetry album. The song is amazing, and the video doesn’t disappoint either.
This song exhibits probably the best example of what has now become a Muse trademark, that of the quiet part of a song being ripped apart by the loudest guitar sound you have ever experienced.
When the song starts you think you’re in for a nice mellow song, and then all hell breaks loose.
The video is weird, as almost every Muse video is, but as usual sums up and accompanies the song perfectly. I love the gold tinge the whole thing has, giving the video a very unreal, almost ethereal quality.
The end of the video, when the little girl supposedly summons up a rainstorm, which soaks the band gives it a thrilling end, and one which makes you want to watch time and again.
Song: 9/10
Video: 8/10
