Miley Cyrus - ‘Start All Over’ Music Video Review | What, No Nude Photos? Damn
I’ll admit to having never heard of Miley Cyrus before the whole hoohah about some photos of her exposing naked flesh started. It’s not my fault, I’m British and she has never released anything over here.
There’s also the fact that I’m older than 14 so don’t watch the Hannah Montana show which does air on the Disney channel over here. But like a good reviewer, I thought I should now find out what all the fuss was about.
This is one her songs, although not her latest, called Start All Over, and I have to say, on the first few viewings, I’m not exactly impressed. Although having said that, I can see the appeal for a younger generation.
She strikes me like a cross between Avril Lavigne, and the idiots from High School Musical. There’s a kind of cheesy pop thing going on, but like Avril, she thinks adding a guitarist will suddenly make the song cooler.
The song is catchy enough, but never gets out of first gear - it’s like pop music for beginners. Her voice is a cross between being annoying, and ultra annoying, although I’m not sure how much of that is put on for her target audience.
The video is the normal pop crap, with bright colours and feel good scenes. Rather than make me smile though, I just want to switch it off to stop being made to feel like I should cheer up.
I haven’t seen these pictures, and my morals say to stay away. I think after sampling this, I’ll also stay away from Miley’s pop career too. I think I’m just a bit too old for all this.
