Mastodon Forgets Their Prehistoric Mammal of Choice

I can’t quite penetrate the lyrics of Mastodon’s latest single off of Blood Mountain, but my guess is that they have little to nothing to do with lava-lamp spaceships landing on a planer that looks like Las Vegas and naked alien men who grow civilizations out of their chests when properly stimulated.
This doesn’t bother me though. Music videos shouldn’t be about things making sense, and, let’s face it, if I learned the secret to alien-man chest stimulation, I would be making civilizations left and right. No complaints there!
What does bother me is that the creatures that populate the alien-man’s pectoral space include triceratops, a two-legged carnivore that appears to be in the raptor family, and this:
That, my friends is an ice-age mammal from the rhinoceros family known as a Baluchitherium.
What it is NOT is an ice age mammal from the elephant family known as mastodons.
The band is called “Mastodon,” not “Baluchitherium,” and while I submit that that is an equally cool band name, the fact of the matter is when it came time to select an ice-aged mammal for inclusion in the video, the choice should have been rather obvious.
I mean, come on! For about five dollars, they put a cooler Dr. Doom in their music video than Tim Story did in his multi-million dollar movie, but they couldn’t afford ONE CGI mastodon? A little fuzzy elephant love! Is that too much to ask?
