Maroon 5 Feat. Rihanna - ‘If I Never See Your Face Again’ Music Video Review
Musical collaborations are an odd genre, as they can either go spectacularly well or spectacularly badly. There just doesn’t seem to be any middle ground involved.
Good Collaborations
Mint Royale and Gene Kelly
Kanye West and Chris Martin
Madonna and Justin Timberlake
Bad Collaborations
Nelly and Fergie
Will.I.Am and Cheryl Cole
Michael Jackson and Akon

This song, a result of teamwork between Maroon 5 and Rihanna is a prefect example of when it goes well, as both artists end up with a potential hit on their hands, and something better than they would have had singularly.
I liked Maroon 5 when they first came out, but now I find their blend of soft rock, and cheesy pop a major turn-off. I’ve also had mixed views on Rihanna, with distaste for her sampling skills, but a secret love for her sound.
This song sees the two team up, and I like the result, probably a lot more than I would have liked the song if it had just been a Maroon 5 release, with no sign of Rihanna.
The video also benefits from having Rihanna in it. As much as some women seem to be in love with Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine, I’d much rather watch Rihanna strutting her stuff.
