Mark Ronson Feat. Amy Winehouse - ‘Valerie’ Music Video Review | Zutons Cover
This song has been out for a while now, but is still hanging around the British charts, and getting as much airplay as the radio stations are allowed to give it.
It’s also fresh in my mind again after Mark Ronson finally managed to persuade Amy Winehouse to perform it live with him, as part of his set at the Brit Awards 2008.
As you can see from the video, she didn’t even manage to turn up for that shoot, which meant Ronson and the director had to change their plans and get the lookalikes on stage instead.

I actually think it works really well in the end, and is a better video than a straight performance with Winehouse on stage would have been any day.
The song itself is brilliant, but I’m torn between this version and the more subtle, slowed down original by The Zutons, which I’ll be reviewing tomorrow.
Song: 9/10
Video: 8/10
