Jessica Simpson - ‘These Boots Are Made For Walking’ Review | Ruining A Classic
Why? Just why? This is one of the worst cases of taking a classic tune from the sixties, covering it, and absolutely ruining it in an attempt to bring it up to date.
If you like Jessica Simpson, then first of all, what is wrong with you? And secondly, why are you giving this untalented waste of space the opportunity to bring out even more crap records.
Let me put it this way, if Simpson didn’t dress skimpily in every video and movie she’s ever appeared in, would you still like her? Nope, didn’t think so, as she’s all ass, and no talent.
I can’t fault the original song, with Nancy Sinatra at the helm, which I’ll be reviewing tomorrow, but this version sucks so bad, I find myself switching off halfway through.
The video is no better, although I’m sure the makers thought they were being clever by making it like a Dukes of Hazzard short. The film itself was a bit pants, so its no real surprise the music video based on it is also shite.
If you do manage to get three quarters of the way through the video then well done, and your reward, if you like that sort of thing, is to see Jessica washing a car in a bikini. Great, just what I always wanted.
Oh, and Willie Nelson, what were you thinking?
Song: 4/10

I watch in silence… :D
If you want to hear a metal version of this song, Megadeth did a version of it with a twist on their first album back in ‘84.
