Jamie T - ‘Sheila’ Music Video Review | Acting Legend Bob Hoskins In Miming Shocker!
If you’re currently residing in the US, you may well have heard this song, but might not have seen this particular video for it, as there is another one knocking about.
Rather than a monkey doing the housework, this one features British acting legend Bob Hoskins miming the lyrics while acting out a recreation of the storyline.
I’m still not sold on Jamie T’s brand of cockney governor type singing/rap style, but this song, and video, are undoubtedly genius, and need a bigger audience.
The song is unique, and certainly a breath of fresh air compared to the usual Indie crap doing the rounds. I’m guessing it’ll be a case of love it or hate it, there’s no real middle ground.
I can look past the slightly ear-splitting cockney rhyming slang, and untrained voice to get to the brilliantly written lyrics, and tale of culture in the 21st century.
Bob Hoskins does a great job with the video, miming perfectly in time all the way through. Seeing such a big actor in a little music video makes it compulsive viewing.
