James Blunt - ‘Carry You Home’ Music Video Review | It’s A Love and Hate Thing
I have very mixed feelings about James Blunt. It’s like having a devil on one shoulder who hates him vociferously, and an angel on the other who thinks he is a genius. I’m somewhere in the middle and flit between the two.
He IS a genius, but probably only for earning shed loads of money for singing cheesy love songs in a high pitched voice… we’d all do it if we could.
Along with the Bee Gees, Blunt makes me want to just hear songs toned down a bit. I mean, did he or they ever actually try singing it normally?
Blunt was fortunate to hit it big with You’re Beautiful back in 2005, but it’s a mixed blessing, as he is now forever going to have to try to equal that song.
This release, Carry You Home, doesn’t achieve it, and I doubt if he ever will, as You’re Beautiful is just a brilliant pop song about love.
This is okay, but it never seems to get anywhere. Which is why despite quite liking him, I’d never go and see Blunt live: what a boring 90 minutes that would be.
Song: 6/10
Video: 7/10
