Flo Rida Feat. T-Pain - ‘Low’ Music Video Review | Have I Missed Something Here?
Have I missed something here? I mean, this song has been at the top of the US Billboard charts for ages, and everyone seems to be thinking it’s some kind of masterpiece. Are they on drugs or something?
I’m not denying it’s a good song, and catchy as hell, but it’s certainly not all that everyone is saying it is. Even the artists names are annoying, but maybe that’s just me.
So what do we have here, well the whole song is enveloped by a high pitched rhythm, which annoyed and thrilled me in equal measure. It would get me up dancing at a club, but annoys me when listening to the song at home.
I think the song works on one level because it’s a good mixture of hip hop and crunk, and kind of gets in to your head very easily. But I’ve heard better examples of the genre, so why is this so huge?
The video is nothing special, being your usual hip hop fare, set in a club environment with lots of big booty on display and people wearing sunglasses indoors in the mad assumption it makes them look cool.
I can see why the song reverberates with a disaffected youth who must feel the people producing this are on their side, but man, get over yourselves, they’re out to make money, nothing more, and nothing less.
