Avril Lavigne - ‘Girlfriend’ Music Video Review | Avril, You Only Have To Ask!
Avril Lavigne is hot. There, I said it. I can’t help thinking that, it’s just my opinion that she is bloody gorgeous. She’s also not a bad singer, and writes some very catchy songs such as Girlfriend.
Regardless of what she’s wearing, from the nerdy look (which seems to just mean wearing glasses), to the goth freak, she looks good in anything she wears, so I enjoy watching this video just for that reason alone.
But we’re not really here to talk about my pop star crushes, especially since I should know better at 30 years of age.
So, to the song, which I actually think is one of her best. A part of me prefers I’m With You, mainly because it hit an emotional nerve the first time I heard it. But as a pop song, this kicks more ass.
This song seemed to mark a departure from the moody young emo teen, in to a new more mature, but also more pure pop Avril. It works, but I hope she still shows that rock chick side occasionally too.
The video pitches Avril versus Avril, which from what I said earlier, you can imagine is my dream come true. And even better, someone videoed the girl on girl action for me! Brilliant.
The performance part of the video which seems to be an essential these days (what happened to pure concept promos?) is nothing to write home about, but the rest of it is well done.
This video just makes me hate Dwayne Dibley, sorry, Deryck Whibley from Sum 41 even more. He gets to do Avril Lavigne any time he likes, well if she says yes of course. Lucky so and so.
