Let me start by admitting a failure on my part–I didn’t think the title of this site out particularly well. Sure, when I came up with it I thought it was clever, but when I came up with it, I was 5 or 6 Sam Adams in to a 12 pack and actually laughing at “Mind of Mencia.” There’s a warning I should have heeded.
In hindsight, I’m not sure who the video star is, nor who he or she is killing (or why. Is the video star an assassin? Hm…I smell a sitcom…), but I can say this: it’s better than “The Great Panda Adventure,” which was my roommate’s least vulgar contribution to the creative process.
Whatever the case, I’m here now and the name’s the name, so just don’t ask questions and we’ll be fine. Besides! You’re not here to analyze the name! You’re here to read about music videos–the good, the bad, the old, the new, the great and the terrible. Staples of the site will be music video reviews, “Best and Worst Of” lists, tales of my on set experiences, explanations of various processes behind the creation of videos, and whatever else you, the reader, would like to hear about.
For a while, as I develop some of the content there will probably be a high percentage of music video reviews, each with an accompanying, embedded YouTube video so that you can see what, exactly, I’m ranting about.
What are my qualifications to do this? Well, by day, I’m a mild-mannered 20 year old film-student-director-producer-writer-upstart-music-video-
production-company-owner-guy, and by night I’m a masked vigilante, so qualifications are unnecessary. I play by my own dark rules.
So turn off MTV and VH1 (for the love of GOD! Why did you even have that on in the first place? Don’t tell me it’s because you love the 90s. No one loved the 90s.), drop the remote, and stay tuned right here–

Here’s my take…ha.
You’re the Video Star man. And you’re writing style kills me…I really dig it.
Therefore, I’m looking forward to checking back in and getting killed by the video star.
I sent the link to b5media to some of my mates to check out the whole channel that has consumed my life and two of them wrote back and basically said they’re already hooked on this blog.
