Amy Winehouse - ‘Love Is A Losing Game’ Video Review | Starring Blake Fielder-Civil
Amy Winehouse is such a mass (or should that be mess?) of emotions and talent. Her album Back To Black is one of the best albums to have emerged from the UK, not only last year, but of the last five.
But then there is the other side of her, with her drug addictions, and screwed up attitude to her fans, and her commitment to perform, and do her job.
This, the latest of her songs, Love is a Losing Game, shows both sides brilliantly, as she sings her way magnificently through a ballad, but with lyrics giving her emotionally ineptside an airing in public.
The video is a simple affair, showing a montage of her recent live performances, and still images from publicity shots. I don’t like to make stuff up, but I can imagine the record company assumed it would be a safe bet she wouldn’t actually turn up for a video shoot anyway, so why bother in the first place.
Her hubby Blake Fielder-Civil, who she seems desperately in love with, despite both families thinking the relationship is bad for each of them, stars quite centrally in the video, along with his stupid hat.
I like the song, although it’s no Rehab, but the video is obviously a huge disappointment. The sooner Winehouse gets herself sorted the better, if not only for the fact we’d get some proper videos instead of this crap.
