Alicia Keys - ‘Like You’ll Never See Me Again’ Video Review | A Real TearJerker Of A Song
The last time I reviewed an Alicia Keys song, I loved the actual song but ripped the video to pieces for its lack of anything happening in it. It was a real visit to dullsville!
Fortunately, Ms Keys seems to have taken the criticism on board. Not mine of course, I’m not stupid enough to think she reads this crappy little blog. But she definitely spent more time on the treatment for this song.
This song, with the preposterously long title of Like You’ll Never See Me Again, is a real love song, with some pretty, and emotionally heavy lyrics.
It, and the video accompanying it tell the story of a lost love, and the truism that until you lose someone, you may not realise how much they mean to you.
I love the story driven video, although there’s still a bit too much of Alicia just sitting there singing. Yes, she’s a great looking woman, but we need more than just that okay.
In classic film style, the story ends where it began, with someone dying in a hospital, and the mixture of visuals, lyrics, and Alicia’s sweet seductive voice is enough to get anyone welling up in the eye department.
Song: 7/10
