A New Writer For ‘Killed By The Video Star’…
As you might have already guessed by the lack of posting recently, Chris has unfortunately left ‘Killed By The Video Star‘. He’s a busy guy, and well blogs need constant love and attention, so instead of treating this one like a ragged old cat that no-one wanted to pet, he decided to let me adopt it. Thanks Chris, and good luck in the future.
So who am I? Well, I’m DaveP, a freelance writer and blogger from the UK, who already writes one blog on the b5 Music Channel. Yes, you guessed it, the one about all that British music which keeps invading other countries eardrums. Come visit me over at Brit Music Scene to see what I’ve been up to, and then come back here pronto, as we are about to have some fun.
The idea of the site will not change with me in charge, as it’s a brilliant concept and one which I’m going to have some fun with. There will be minor changes, which some of you will notice, and some won’t, but don’t worry about them.
‘Killed By The Video Star’ is going to be digging up the best old and new music videos, watching them along with you, and then either ripping the piss out of them, or praising them to the heavens, depending on whether they are brilliant, or piles of crap.
It really is that simple.
I hope to cover every style and genre of music, artists you love, hate, and have maybe never heard of, and all with a level of snarkiness and humour which will have you cringing and laughing in equal measure.
We’ll talk a bit about the songs obviously, but our main focus is on the videos that accompany them, and whether they were worth making, or should have just been left on the director’s cutting room floor.
I welcome, and highly value your comments and feedback, and of course, if anyone has any requests, just let me know. If you find a brilliantly conceived and filmed music video that I haven’t covered, tell me. Or if you find a steaming pile of horse crap, which is trying to pass for a music video, again, just let me know.
